As leaves begin to turn and dusk brings with it a chill to the air, we are reminded that fall is on its way. These fall season indicators also signal that “Flu Season” is just around the corner. Are you ready?
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommends that all persons 6 months-of-age and over receive vaccination against the flu each and every year. Click here for more CDC Flu information: http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2013-2014.htm
Months in advance Clackamas & Oregon Pediatrics places orders for flu vaccine based on the projected needed of our patients. Vaccine manufacturers and the State of Oregon determine when we will receive our orders. Already we have received some forms of the vaccine and have begun to administer it to patients during routine office visits and a limited number of scheduled “vaccine only” visits. We anticipate having received all flu vaccine by mid October so the following walk-in flu clinics are scheduled.
Walk-In Flu Shot Clinics:
Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 9:00 AM – Noon at our Clackamas Office (9290 SE Sunnybrook Blvd., #200, Clackamas, OR 97015) Completed Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at our Clackamas Office (9290 SE Sunnybrook Blvd., #200, Clackamas, OR 97015) Completed
Just Added: Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 9:00 AM – Noon at our Clackamas Office (9290 SE Sunnybrook Blvd., #200, Clackamas, OR 97015)
Patients from any of our clinic locations are welcome.
- Before your child receives any flu vaccine, tell us if she/he is allergic to egg.
- Depending on your child’s medical history, you may be asked to wait in the office for an observation period after receiving the vaccine.
- Prevention is the best medicine, so wash hands thoroughly and cover those coughs.
Please ask us at your next visit, come to one of our walk-in clinics, or call to schedule a time for your child to receive the flu vaccine.
