Pediatric Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health Providers

We are an integrated medical and behavioral health clinic. Just as we monitor the physical development of our patients, we also realize the importance of monitoring their social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health.

Our behavioral health providers work together with patients, families, and pediatricians using a systematic team approach to provide patient-centered care to address the impact mental, emotional, and academic stressors that can result in increased stress (and sometimes self-harm crises) and contribute to negative physical health outcomes.

We not only offer behavioral health related screening and checks during pediatric medical visits, we also provide longer term, scheduled appointments to help address identified concerns. We strongly believe that the sooner a concern is recognized, evaluated, and diagnosed, the sooner treatment and growth can begin.

We currently have 8 Behavioral Health Providers who see patients from birth – 25 years. To better serve a wide variety of patient needs, we provide both evaluations and therapy.

We offer…

Evaluations in the areas of:

  • Cognitive & Intellectual Testing
  • Academic Achievement
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Autism Screening (not ADOS)

Therapy to help support:

  • Emotional and Behavioral Issues
  • Anxiety, Depression, Anger
  • ADHD
  • Poor Social & Interpersonal Skills
  • Relational and Attachment Concerns
  • Academic Related Concerns
  • Parent Training
  • And more

We use a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy among others to meet patient and family needs.

We work with most insurance companies and offer a self-pay option as well.

She loves getting to know her patients to help ensure they continue building on their strengths and individuality while helping them learn and practice the skills they need to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. She has over 10 years’ experience working with youth with learning, social-emotional, and behavioral concerns. She joined Oregon Pediatrics in 2009 and provides both diagnosis and therapy.

Rick J. Schultz, LMFT

Rick is originally from Coos Bay/North Bend, Oregon where he grew up and went to high school. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oregon. Rick is recently returning to Oregon after 10 years in Southern California where he obtained his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University/American School of Professional Psychology. He worked as a community mental health clinician and supervisor, as well as running a part-time private practice.

Rick is passionate about the work he does in helping assist children and families and thankful to now have that opportunity at Clackamas & Oregon Pediatrics in their Behavioral Health Department. In his spare time, Rick enjoys the outdoors, trying new foods, as well as collecting and listening to vinyl.

Ryan W. Briscoe, LPC

Ryan moved to Portland, OR to earn his Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary. Here, he met his wife (also a therapist specializing in children and teens) and they are now raising their own children in this city whose community they feel called to serve. As a parent himself, he knows first-hand how joyful, but also how difficult, these years can be — especially when facing mental health challenges.

Ryan believes that people continue to develop throughout their lives, but the early years are crucial in setting a solid foundation for all that follows. His approach is to work collaboratively with his patients to clarify goals, identify strengths and build resilience through their particular struggles.

When he’s not counseling, Ryan enjoys reading, drawing, and exploring the Oregon coast with his family. “There is no more meaningful work — for parents and helpers — than to invest in the lives of children.

Hanna Thompson, Registered Intern

Hanna has a Master’s in Clinical Mental health therapy from George Fox University. Hanna has a passion for listening and learning about people’s successes, their struggles, and their way of processing, which lead her to pursue a career as a therapist.

Hanna believes in collaboratively working with individuals and/or families to create a safe environment that supports the discovery of internal strengths, hope, and resiliency. She hopes to build a therapeutic relationship built on strong rapport, trust, and communication to aid in this process of growth. She is excited about working with her patients to define goals, values, challenges, and potential, as they work side-by-side towards lasting change.

Olivia Gordon, LMFT

Olivia Gordon has a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University. A Portland native with a passion for working with children, she spent 10 years as a Montessori teacher before getting involved in child adolescent and family therapy. Olivia has been with Clackamas & Oregon Pediatrics for 5 years.

Olivia firmly believes that experiences profoundly influence the development of children. These experiences influence emotional, social, cognitive, and physiological development. No one, no matter how young, should be defined by circumstance. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive.
