It’s National Breastfeeding Month

August Is officially here and with it comes National Breastfeeding Month. The four weeks of the month each have their own observances.

Week one

is World Breastfeeding Week, which focuses on protecting, supporting and promoting breastfeeding.

Week two
Is Indigenous Milk medicine week, which focuses on nourishment.

Week three
is Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Week, which highlights the traditions of Asian-Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.

Week four
is Black Breastfeeding week, which focuses on honoring black breastfeeding and the power of rest as a revolution to the black community.

            Clackamas & Oregon Pediatrics offers a multitude of services regarding breastfeeding, including initial feeding consultations, follow-up consultations, as well as consultations on supplementation, feeding transitions, induced lactations, and returning to work and feeding.

           This month designed to celebrate our nursing parents and to support them as they navigate the many daily changes experienced while support their little ones to grow. So if you are a nursing mom we see and we are here to support you!
