Katherine “Katie” Baker, CSWA

Location: Happy Valley

Credentials: CSWA- Portland State University School of Social Work, Portland, OR

I believe therapy is the messy in between as we practice and discover how we want to approach feelings, events, relationships and everyday life. It is a delicate space, built collaboratively, to address the individual’s goals for utilizing skills and showing up to the world in a way that feels true to you.

About Katie

Katie was born in Minnesota but spent most of her childhood moving with her family to different states and seeing new places. She enjoys exploring and growing her curiosity as she meets people and tries new activities. She started off at a young age "working with kids" as she rallied neighborhood kids to play basketball, capture the flag and football. Through her passion of games, she has seen the powerful positive impact when individuals find their passions and discover new skills.

She received her master's in social work from Portland State University. She is drawn to mental health as a means to provide a safe space for individuals to heal, explore their identities, unlock potential and enhance relationships. In therapy, she relies on using a relational approach and engaging individuals based on their self-identified goals while practicing tools to address the barriers they have endured. She is driven to craft safe spaces collaboratively with others and empower individuals as they engage life in a way that feels true to them.
