In order for treatment to be successful it is crucial that patients are comfortable, feel understood, and share in the goals of the therapist. There must be a mutual commitment to the process and the effort required to explore. I offer a personalized and adaptable approach to fit your needs as patient’s/families/supervisees and I am steadfast in my commitment to help facilitate positive change.

My approach to care

In my roles as both a therapist and clinical supervisor, I utilize a primarily psychodynamic approach, which looks past the surface level of issues and aims to provide understanding and resolution to generate long term change. Working in this way helps to connect our past experiences and relationships with the thoughts and decisions we make in the present, building a greater sense of control and stability. I also incorporate several other theoretical models and interventions in order to adapt treatment/clinical supervisionto best serve my patients and supervisees, always remaining flexible. This may involve more concrete exercises within the context of cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy or more philosophical approaches, such as mindfulness. Developing an awareness and insight into your thoughts and decision making (and that of your children) is key to unlocking the potential for fulfillment and life satisfaction; removing barriers and burdens to provide a pathway to become more attuned and in control of your lives. I work very hard to continue advancing my expertise withevidence-based treatment. I have received ongoing specialized training in trauma focused treatment, family therapy, and psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy.
